GRANGE MENS HOCKEY CLUB
The Grange Hockey Club has been going for over 100 years and is still thriving. We have 7 senior teams as well as an Under 16 National League team, and U14 & U12 junior age group teams. Our Junior hockey programmes are very successful and popular and more information can be found in the Juniors section of this site.
Our 1sts play at the top of the National League and are consistently one of the leading sides in Scotland and contain a number of full internationals within thier ranks. Our 1st XI have again qualified for Europe in 2011/12 having finished in a strong 2nd place in National league 1 last season. We now travel to Croatia (Zagreb) in late May 2012 to compete in the European Challenge 1 tournament, where we hope to emulate our excellent runners-up placing in the 2010 Euro Hockey Trophy.
Our 2nd, 3rd, Development, 5th and 6th teams all fulfill important roles and offer opportunities to play hockey at differing levels whether it be very competitive or a little more sociable (or hopefully a good combination of both). So if you are looking for a club to join we'll have plenty of opportuities and options for you to reach the level you aspire to. Our 7th team are one of the few teams who still play their home fixtures on grass (at the Grange club itself, and it is an excellent pitch forming part of the outfield where the Scotland play theri home cricket fixtures) - it is also front of our clubhouse (and near to our fantastic pavillion and bar...)
Grange Edinburgh Ladies are our sister club and they run 4 teams in the various leagues (including their 1st XI also in NL1). They join us for several joint social events through out the season. Most events are based at our clubhouse on Portgower Place in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
If you are interested in joining our club please see the application forms: click here
If you want further information then please go to the contact us section to email me.
I look forward to meeting you in the bar for a sociable beer or two.
Best wishes
