A performance that improved as players realised that slow, square passes and failing to offer height behind a compact and defensive opposition were not going to help much. Robbie helped himself to a hat-trick, benefitting from the sage-like, but oft forgotten, wisdom of goal-hanging at the back post. He also stole a goal from Cosh, after he had done the hard work of dancing around 2 defenders plus the keeper and neatly lifted towards the far post. Robbie claims it made up for the sitter he’d missed about 5 minutes earlier – I’m not sure if Cosh was sympathetic to his plea. Tom netted a brace, both calm finishes which some of our other strikers should seek to replicate. Adam bagged a rebound after the keeper had made 2 good, quick saves. Mitch and ?? (I'll be claiming it soon if no-one else wants it) rounded-off the scoring. Kevin, Adam and I all earned obligatory rests. MoM award went to Jack Colister for his direct play up-front. Thanks to Neil for umpiring.
