(scorer: Macfarlane)
The Development team again managed to produce their now regular "curate's egg" of a performance against a "pumped up" Grange 5's side.
Fielding another young side (with only 4 adults in their 13 player squad), the Development team started well and created some attractive passing movements as they initially pushed the 5's back. Indeed the Dev.team won but failed to capitalise on a number of short corners in the first 20-25 minutes.
The 5's clearly took heart from this, as with Dev.team now a little stretched, the 5's took the lead with a slightly soft reverse stick finish from 5 yards out. Worse was to follow as the 5's scored well taken two penalty corners prior to half time...to lead 3-0
The second half saw the Development team play not quite so well as they struggled to maintain possession against an increasingly confident 5's side , although the half ended with a goal to each team, including a Macfarlane penalty corner strike for the Development team (many thanks to 5's defence for ensuring the ball was deflected into the goal - they clearly didn't need a clean sheet).
Many thanks also to Alastair and Duncan for their good/controlled umpiring displays which passed off quietly in this inter club "friendly".
